Online therapy

Online Psychotherapy and Counselling is a way for you to access Psychotherapy and Counselling over the internet.

Why choose online therapy?

Since Covid, online therapy and counselling has become more easily accessible. Clients may use a hybrid of online and face to face.

Things to consider when choosing online therapy:

  • Are you comfortable using the internet and technology?
  • Do you feel you can express your feelings well using words?
  • Do you have an environment to speak from where you feel secure?
  • Is there a computer terminal that you can use privately without interruption?

How does it work?

I run online therapy through Zoom. Zoom is a way for us to work together, face to face from your computer, using your microphone and camera.

Being able to see each other gives you more of the benefits you get from face-to-face therapy and therefore all of my online work requires use of the video camera.

Should you chose a Zoom session, you will be guided over the telephone or face to face (Covid allowing) through setting up your own encrypted Zoom account. Then we will meet on Zoom at a time that we have previously agreed.

What to expect

In the first session I will talk through:

  • The practicalities of meeting.
  • Codes of Ethics and Practice – including confidentiality.
  • My Privacy Policy and request your consent to collect and store data.
  • My Contract with you for therapeutic assessment and if agreed, ongoing sessions.
  • Beginning an initial therapeutic assessment.
